9 year old acting out

So my 9 year old has got a stinking attitude as of late. I've tried everything to get to the bottom of it but have no solution. When ever he's naughty we take his electronics away and then he starts with a trail of verbal abuse like saying he hopes I die and I'm a nasty mother and he doesn't want to like here. This is only when we take his electronics away. He doesn't have them all day everyday. Mon - Thurs he doesn't have it at all because of school. I let him on it for an hour before bed on a fri. I just don't know what to do with him. He walks around the house like a teenager and kicks off about silly little things. Like this morning I asked him nicely to change his trousers as they were too big and he went on to his room shouting and banging his drawers and stomping around. He's even worse when he comes back from being with his dad. I'm just at a loose end.

Try Divas & Dictators, Yiu can download a fee sample to see if you like it. Have a wonder over to the Preteens section too, you’ll find that you’re not alone Smile

Afternoon 😊 I’ve only joined today but I saw your thread and felt I should reply. I’m having very similar issues at the minute with my 9yr old, it’s like a different child came home from school one day. He sees his dad four nights a month so I’m very much on my own although I can ask him for support/advice when I need it. I just wanted you to know you aren’t on your own 😊 x

Welcome to MN Feather. There a useful Lone Parents Section and you may find the Preteens section helpful too.
