What should an 8 month old be saying?
My little boy is very vocal always saying oooooh aaaaah raaaaar and most recently has taken to doing this really loud squealing and squealing 🙈 He hasn't said Mama or Dada or Baba kind of sounds yet is this normal? What sounds are your 8 month olds saying? X

My ds certainly didn't say either at 8 months. I think he just gurgled and babbled a bit , and then not much. In fact he didn't say mummy until he started nursery at 21 months. Daddy came sooner, but definitely not 8 months :)

My 10 mo says dadadadada but not to DH and he certainly doesn't say mama... in fact he laughs if anyone asks him to say it.

My ds didn't say any words until he was 25 months. He's made up for it since. Grin

He could walk at 7 months though. Some kids just do things in a different order. I'm sure your ds is fine.

None of mine were saying much at 8 months. Dd2 may have said "mamamamamama", and she definitely shook her head for "no" but I don't think any of them said anything with meaning until around 10 months or later.
However dd1 and dd2 were in sentences by 15 months, so they just learnt quickly.

Mine didn't use those until he had nearly 50 words (14 months). His first were "squirrel," "kitty," "round round" (around and around), and "sun." Not all of them do mama and dada first!
