11 month old DD has no pincer grip

Just what it says, really. If I leave peas on her tray, she still scrapes them into her hand with all her fingers and then works it up to the side of her thumb to put in her mouth. She also can’t pick up other small things (which is helpful as older DD leaves Lego everywhere). She’s had her 10 month check and the HV was inclined to say “wait and see”, but should I be worrying/contacting the GP now? And what else can I do to improve it?

That's still within the normal range OP. I would just keep an eye on it. You can try to encourage it by putting some small things she likes to eat in an ice cube tray...those baby puff things might work.

Just don't panic and lots of opportunities to practise. Maybe try lots of finger foods and things to help strengthen the general grip too.

Try Ella's kitchen melty puffs and place one on her hand to encourage her grip and eventually she'll be picking them up in no time. Like another pp said lots of finger foods.

Sorry, I forgot I posted this last week! grin She seems to have got picking up with her thumb and forefinger now, but funnily enough she still rolls it down into the palm of her hand so that she can eat it from a gap between her palm and her thumb, if you know what I mean. But it’s a start!
