Is it normal for a 10.5 month old to still have no teeth at all?

Title says it all really. dd2 at 10.5 months old still has no teeth and I'm just wondering whether this is OK or whether I need to speak to someone about it? dd1's first teeth came through at 6 months bang on schedule....so I'm a bit a of a loss.

Any other epxeriences anyone?

my ds1 didn't get any teeth until 13 months, ds2 got them at 8 months. I wouldn't be worried at all

I'd say it's ok - my friend's little boy didn't get any teeth through till he was nearly 12 months! Now he's 19 months and has quite a few.

Phew! Thanks for the reassurance. Good to know that she's completely normal!

the only bad thing is that the gums are tougher the older they (imo) so when the teeth come you'll know all about it!

i was worried abt ds2 at 7.5 mths and toothless as dd1 had her 1st tooth at 5.5 mths. guess i shouls stop worrying then?

Yes no need to worry. I thought ds1 was going to turn a year old completely toothless, but 2 appeared at11.5m and I think he kind of caught up a bit then quite quickly. Certainly by 18m or so his jaw had an average number of teeth in it. His 3 younger siblings were also lateish to cut first teeth, and interestingly late to grow their 2nd teeth too (ds3 exemted as he's only 3).

dd - not even a lumpy gum until 13 months. Has the grand total of 8 at 21 months and after the 1st two all appeared in the wrong order(molars first etc) Her older brothers were similarly late teethers (now 6 &9). Both lastof their peer group to start 2nd teeth too.

My ds didn't get his first tooth until 16.5 months! The dentist told me not to be unduly worried until he reached 18 months - only then he might consider having a closer look.

He is now 3.5 and still doesn't have all his teeth. His 19th came through about a week ago, so we are waiting for one more (one right at the bottom front bizarrely!)
