If you did a dream feed when did you stop?

My daughter is 5 months old and sleeps really well at night. Down for 7pm then a dream feed when we’re heading to bed and normally up at 6/7am.

Just wondering when people stopped the dream feed? And how do you stop, gradually or just drop the feed altogether.

First time mum so no experience with this.

Many thanks

I stopped at 8 months. I tried to drop the dream feed when DD just turned 7 months but it did not go too well - DD started waking up earlier and earlier and every morning she was stirring and moaning (while with the DF she always woke up happy). I figured DD was not ready and reinstated the DF for a month. When DD turned 8 months, it was clear she no longer needed to be woken up for milk. She was on 3 decent meals a day (including proteins and carbs) and she was no longer too keen on her 10.30pm bottle.

We did it gradually. I reduced the DF bottle by 30mls (1oz) every 2-3 days. When the DF amount got down to 60mlns (2oz), I stopped completely. The second time everything went very smoothly and DD continued to sleep through till 6.30am.

My baby hadn't had a dream feed since I stopped breast feeding at 6 months. He's 9 months old now and gets too full up now on all of his food and just takes two 8oz bottles of milk a day.

Awesome thanks for the guidance. I won’t attempt to stop it until she’s on solids then. I don’t want to mess up her sleep as we are already struggling with day time naps so can’t lose the night time sleep.
