2 year old and toys??!!

My DD is 2 and has no preferences for toys. In fact she doesn't really play With anything in particular. She becomes bored very quickly and mostly runs around finding other things to do.
Can anyone recommend what kind of toys I should buy for her which she will engage with? Smile

Haha my 2yr old is the same! I think it’s just the way they are for now.

She will sometimes get down to some good playing with her happyland/little people stuff. Or her megabloks and duplo, most of the time she wants me to play this stuff with her though! Shock

My DS was like this too! He always preferred to be ‘doing’ something than ‘playing with’ something.

You might have success with toys that have a purpose to them (eg Lego, jigsaws, making things) rather than those designed for unstructured imaginative play.

Otherwise, try to get out and do lots of activities with her - music class, tumble tots etc. I know it’s harder when the weather is cold. Does she like cooking together? Play doh?

The only thing my almost 2 year old son will play with is cars, trains, diggers (anything with wheels that he can push basically) despite the mounds of other toys we have. I have no idea what I’m going to get him for Christmas/birthday as he’s just not interested in playing with anything else...
