Stopping breastfeeding - how long does hormone crash last?!

Hi
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes!

DC2 is 8 months and I'm winding down breastfeeding for a number of reasons. I'm doing it gradually as recommended and now down to 2-3 feeds per day with others replaced by bottle. No night feeds.

Even gradually though I'm really feeling the hormone shift. It's horrible! I'm really low, irritable and angry a lot of the time, and so so knackered no amount of sleep makes any difference.

I can't remember how long this lasted first time around! Can anyone help and let me know?!

Need some light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks x

Hi

Sorry to hear you’re suffering, I was totally unprepared for it!! But it doesn’t last too long, I felt it for a couple of weeks before hormones settled down again. This was when I stopped breast feeding though. Reducing feeds made hormones worse for me before it got better.but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
