Hey everyone,

Just a bit of advice, I’m going back to work in a couple of months and my mum is going to be having my dd 1 day a week, she’s still breastfed but weaning her at the moment and she’s eating pretty well (fingers crossed).

Problem is she gets really upset when left with anyone but me or my dh. My mum wants me to let her look after her for 4 hours tomorrow to start to get her settled in for looking after her.

I know she’s going to be really upset about me not being with her, do you think it’s a good idea leaving her with my mum even though she will probably be distraught? It breaks my heart thinking of leaving her upset?

I’m really worried she’ll think I’ve deserted her? I left her with dh for the first time on her own last week whilst I had a KIT day and felt the same but she was absolutely fine, but I know when I’ve left her with my mum before even for 5 minutes she gets so upset.

Thanks guys xxx

Is your mum local? Half an hour at a time would be better to start with. Then your dd can start to understand you will come back. Then gradually build it up. Hope it goes ok
