Typical (nearly) 3yo shoe size?!

This is mostly just out of interest. DS1 is coming up for 3 in a couple of months and I’ve just bought him some new shoes which are size 9.5. Most of the ‘toddler’ shoes only really go up to a 10 and he changes shoes sizes every couple of months Confused What size are 3 yos usually? I’ve struggled to find cute slippers for him (animal/dinosaur/whatever he’s into) ones usually stop for 4 year olds and shoe size 9!! So just curious really!

My 2.4 year old is just growing out of size 6. I wouldn't have thought 9 was massive for a 3yo.

Wouldn’t have thought so either!

I'd say 9.5 is quite large for a not-quite-3yo. DD1 is 3.4yo and often has comments about the large size of her feet. She's just gone into a 9 and has the same size as my friend's 5yo.

Also if the toddler slippers all stop at 4yo or a size 9 (guessing you mean some brands size by age, some by traditional shoe sizing), I'd be inclined to assume that average size at 4yo is a 9?

Yes that is exactly what I mean about the sizing. And you’re right. I was maybe hoping someone had a brand in mind that did the ‘cute’ toddler stuff in bigger sizes. Might have a closer look online for inspiration!

I have really cute boot slippers for the 3yo that came from Argos. They are available in sizes 8-12 (I just checked!). They are a character from an 'older' TV show that she is just beginning to get into though, rather than the much-loved Peppa et al. She's starting to grow out of the babyish shows so I've tried to 'future-proof' any character clothing she gets now. Is there anything he likes which is also for older children? There is plenty of Minions stuff around at the moment if you don't want to much superhero/transformers etc.

My 2yo is in size 7 clarks - I'd say she has big feet but I'm hoping she'll grow into her feet Grin

I’m hoping the same! His dad is 6’3” so might explain it Wink

Thanks for the Argos suggestion will have a look. He’s more into dinosaurs and animals than specific characters so maybe I’ll have more luck finding something generic he will be excited about!

DD is 3 in a couple of weeks and is just going into a 9. She's very tall, though, with long fingers and toes. Her feet look in proportion and no-one has ever commented on them being big!
