bedding for 2.5yo?

my DS is still in his cot bed (sides still on). Very happy sleeping in it, never tries to climb out, so gonna keep him in it for a while longer. We live in a hot country so for the last few months, no bedding needed. Planning ahead for winter. He used to have sleep bags, but figured I should move to duvet....so confused by sizes! Toddler cot bed duvets are 150 x 120, but his bed is 140 x 70, so how on earth would that fit?!
Advice please!

Well the duvet needs to go up and over his body so that will take up some of the extra width. The extra could then be tucked around the edges to prevent him kicking off the covers in the night.

You can buy sleeping bags that have their feet sticking out of them (or normal ones in older toddler sizes) if you are concerned about the excess fabric? These are really expensive though.

Personally I used sleeping bags until I took the sides off, then switched to a single duvet fitted sideways and tucked under the mattress both sides at that point. However mine were a lot younger when the bars came down so were still in 'baby' sleeping bags up to that point.

There are actual cot duvets, as opposed to cot bed duvets. The cot ones are smaller. Try putting the dimension into google. Mine is larger than the cot, I just tuck the long end under the mattress.
