I found a strand of hair on DS scrotum and he has developed an odour under his arms.

I'm distraught .

He is most likely on the spectrum and has language difficulties. This is too much. Sad

I'm sorry. That's hard isn't it. Have you seen your GP about it? They might be able to delay the onset of early puberty with medication? Worth a try.

Aww bless, I was 8 when I started my periods even though they were really light. Luckily my Mam was fabulous and didn't make a big deal out of it. I grew up thinking all the other girls were immature when we did sex education and periods were mentioned.

No advice just wanted to let you know it does happen and just go with the flow. I accept 7 is still very young but we all develop at different ages.

Hope DS manages to cope with the changes ahead Flowers

DS is 10 and has had body odour for a few years.
I can't say I look that closely at him to know about body hair, but he hasn't reached puberty.
I would see your dr though if you are worried.

Hi folks. We've agreed with the OP that we're going to move this one over to behaviour/development - we'll ping it across shortly.

Made an urgent appointment to my GP ( I was hysterical Blush). He examined DS and said that he showed no other signs of puberty. He measured DS height and weight (as a sudden growth spurt can indicate puberty), DS is under - average. He wasn't worried about DS fine hairs as he said that DS may have premature adrenarche which is different from precocious puberty, even if he doesn't have premature adrenarche this usually doesn't need a referral.

DS odour seems to have vanished ! Even after being out and about in the sun. Maybe it would come back again.

I'm keeping a close eye on DS, after a few weeks, if I spot any sudden changes (. Hair getting thicker, taller). I will request a blood test and ask to get DS refereed to an endro... ( can't spell the full specialist name who deal with premature puberty).

I've also been reading that there's some hormones in food which can set early puberty symptons... especially milk. DS has an allergy to milk, so I thought it couldn't be the case. Though the allergen free milk which he drinks do contains hormones. So I have just switched DS milk to an organic free from dairy milk. I'll see how it goes !
