3 month old found his tongue?

Hello, wondered if anyone had advice/reassurance/ their own experiences my 14 week old over the last week has started poking his tongue out all the time- not the whole tongue but the tip, when he's awake and looking at you, particularly when he smiles. It's a little like he's trying to chew it or push it out. He never used to do it so I just wondered if it's a phase and he's just found it and trying to work out what to do with it. Or does it mean something else? He had a tongue tie cut at 3 weeks, is this a symptom of it growing back and now he doesn't understand the feeling? Any feedback helpful :)

It's probably only a case of "hey, found this thing, look what I can do with it"! This may be replaced next week by fascination with his feet or his hands. I wouldn't worry about it.

For what it's worth, my DS2 had his tongue tie cut at five days old and had his tongue in and out all evening that same day!
