Is this normal, I can't remember. She cries when she sees her grandparents! I probably havent done as much with her as her brother did at her age - he went to lots of groups and I prob socialised more. I feel too tired when ds at nursery so we tend to potter around the house/garden and go shopping! My mum says I should socialise her more or is it a phase?

IIRC many children to through a period of separation anxiety at about a year old. DS1 was in nursery every morning from 5 months, but still went through this. DS2 wouldn't stay with anyone other than me (not even his Dad) and he ran away and his from my mum.

Both are fine now and happy to socialise with anyone. Don't worry, sounds like a perfectly normal phase to me. Maybe your mum is just feeling a bit put out at her dgs not "wanting" to spend time with her. My mum certainly seemed to have her nose put out of joint by it!

My twins (12month) only like each other (in terms of other children) they get really upset at swimming or the park if other children get too close. No idea why they spend plenty of time round friends with children a similar age. They also get very clingy to me and DH when adults they don't know well or strangers get too close. They're fine with my sis and parents.
