Wondering how behind DD is

They all crawl and walk at their own pace.
In terms of being behind I remember a friend's son being referred to a pediatrician at 2 as he wasn't walking - (there was nothing wrong with him, turns out he just couldn't be arsed!)

DS (first child) was at 10 months, DD1 at 11months and DD2 not until 14 months (spent her entire babyhood in the pram/car seat ferrying the big two around!)

As pp said, they all develop at their own pace. If you are worried, Google what is the usual range of ages and if your child is outside that range (or at the upper end), maybe check with your GP? Do you have any other concerns re development? Is this your first?

Ds1 walked at 11 months,
Ds2 walked at 9 months.
Neither crawled, just got up and walked.

DD walked at 10 months, didn't crawl until after physio intervention... Think she was about 17 months.

DS walked at 17 months, crawled (army shuffle style) at 10 months.

DS 10 months

DD 18 months

I think up to about 20 months is fairly normal, after that worth checking there isn't an issue with GP/HV (although advice may have changed since mine were small).

DD walked holding both hands at 11 months. One hand at 12 months. Independent at 13 months, running straight after.

She didn't crawl until she was nearly 2. She didn't bum shuffle or anything, she was very frustrated! But she got there.

DS crawled at 9 months and has just taken his first steps at 14 months. Crawling isn't a milestone at all (plenty of babies never crawl) and my health visitor told me to let her know if DS wasn't walking by 18 months as they would refer for physio but they don't really worry until 2. How old is your little one?

Ds crawled at 10mo, walked just before 13mo.

DD1 crawled at 8 months walked at 14.
DD2 crawled at 6 months walked at 13 months.

I've known people having kids walk from 9 months to 22 months, average seems about 14-16 months but there is no right or wrong age.
I think if they are over 24 months sometimes they are assessed for motor difficulties if not walking yet but otherwise it's just like talking- when they want to.

DD crawled about 9 months. Walked with a push walker at 11 months, still not walking independently almost 16 months.

dc1 crawled at 9 months, walked at 14 months.
dc2 crawled at 7 months, still not walking at 12 months.

Talk to your hv if your dc is 18 months + and not walking, but they are usually not worried until the child is 2, as pp said.

He spoke late lazy but is in a bilingual environment, so not worried. His first words were around 2.5 yrs. We met an 18mo today who heard some church bells and said 'campana ding dong' (campana = bell) Shock i nearly fell over!

Mine all crawled at 8 months.

DS1 walked at 12 months, DS2 at 10 months and DS3 at 11 months.

There's a very wide range of normal for crawling and walking, so try not to worry too much.

Why do people worry about this so much? It's not as if there are adults that can't walk just because they never learned. She will get there eventually! Enjoy the peace and quiet of an immobile toddler as long as you can :)

None of mine ever crawled. They either walked early or bottom shuffled in various styles. The youngest was latest - just sat pointing at things for others to fetch her. Still does if she can get away with it! She bottom shuffled a bit up until around 15 months when she got up and walked in a very steady, co-ordinated way. First just got up at 11months and walked. Twins were pretty hopeless too - sort of rolled and sort of bottom shuffled but mainly just sat and laughed at each other. They cruised around furniture for ages without attempting to let go. Must have been 14 months or so before they walked.

DD crawled at 12 months (conveniently 3 days before her 1 year check, so HV was happy!) then walked at 17 months. I asked HV at her 1 year check about what was normal for walking, and she said that anything between 6 months and 2 years was normal. Another health visitor asked to see DD at about 16 months, and said that as she was weight bearing (cruising at least, can't remember if she would stand unaided then) she wouldn't be referred - they would refer at 18 months if she wasn't weight bearing by then. Hope that helps.

Ds1 crawled at 9mths, walked at 13. Ds2 only just started crawling at 11 mths and not walking yet.

He's just has a physio check due to DDH and the physio said his skeleton was still immature (his hip / pelvis region showed 9 mth maturity not 1yr old maturity), so he would probably walk a bit later. She also said he was really flexible and that flexible babies tended to walk a bit later too as the muscles have to work harder to support the skeleton so that they remain stable.

It's great your DD is getting checked out OP but hopefully it's nothing to worry to about.
