How long do your children go between naps & how long do they nap for? My 4mth ds seems to need so much sleep and can't manage much in between before hes cranky again. Just interested what anyone else remembers or is experiencing please!!

dd3 is 5 months and she can 'last' about 3 hours between naps

is a bit hit and miss though as I take dd1 to school, so she naps for school runs too . Just go with what he wants, they still need lots of sleep

My dd is 17 weeks and she manages 1.5-2hrs before getting cranky for a nap. But she only naps for about 30mins at a time during the day.

At about that age dd1 used to have a 40 min nap every two or so hrs.
DD2 is 6 1/2 mths and kind of kips when she can, where she can so as to fit around the schedule.
DD1 was a total doormouse tho. Dd2 is a power napper. Some days she only has20 mins, sometimes 3 hrs.
Also depends on the baby.
Try to read his tired cues and try him in bed. There's no rule that says they have to sleep every x hrs for x amount of time.
You'll get to know him and his schedule and then he'll change it on you overnight anyway!!!

my ds is 5mths now, and since he was born ive been just letting him nap on me, whenever and wherever he was able, i sooo didnt want to start letting his naps dictate my life!
and he has been a cranky sod all his life too...the last four days, i finally decided that when he shows signs of getting tired, which is usually every 3 hrs, then i would prioritise getting him to sleep....this means napping with him or taking him out in his buggy for 40 mins or an hour.
oh my god! what a difference! all this time, he has been desperate for more sleep than i was allowing him.
now i feel really mean. its kind of inconvienient going to bed or out when i dont need to but its worth it.
