My dd is 25 months and I have been trying to potty train her for a while. About 3 months ago she did a proper wee in her potty and I really praised her. She hasnt done a thing in her potty since! Although, the other day she did a single tiny drop in her potty and kept saying 'oh no, oh no' even though I praised her. She wears kbickers in the day for a while but still wee's as if she was wearing a nappie and when she does have an accident on the floor she gets upset. She can say 'mummy, wee wee' but thats after she has done it rather than before. She will sit on her potty quite happily but just wont do anything in it. She would rather get off the potty, step to the side and wee on the floor even though it upsets her.
I never shout at her or tell her off for accidents, i just say nevermind and give her a hug and say 'potty next time'.
So am I doing this wrong or is she not ready just yet? Im running out of ideas now.
