Moving area, will my 2yo need a HV check?

We're moving house in March to a different area, DS will be 2.5yo - do I need to arrange for him to see a HV in the new area once we're register with a GP? Not sure what normally happens but my gut is that he's old enough now that it doesn't matter!

You don't need to see a hv at all.

We have moved quite a few times and have always had the health visitor come for a visit. I think they have to visit anyone who has moved into their district.

Two opposite responses, let's hope I get a few more as that doesn't really help Grin

Basically I don't want to faff about arranging one if I don't have to, and equally I don't want to not do it if I'm supposed to!

Since you aren't bothered about seeing a HV, then I would not give this a second thought. The most that is likely to happen is that one might contact you after you have registered with your new GP surgery. There is no onus on you to arrange a HV visit. It is highly likely, given how overstretched the HV service is, that nobody will bother at all. If they do, you can just say, thanks but no thanks, I have no concerns about my child. If your child hasn't already had the 2/2.5 year health review and you want it, just ask your new GP surgery for the relevant phone number. If you don't want to see a HV, that is also fine.
