My little girl (10 months old) likes to screech when she's happy it's the loudest thing I think I've ever heard and the looks I get when she does it is just awful like they expect me to mute my baby! I've tried ignoring it and then calmly telling her no but obviously she doesn't understand no and still does it it's so loud and and high pitched. She's been doing it since she was about 6 months I thought she had got out of it but clearly not. Anybody else's little one screeched as well?

Please don't worry about other people when you are out. Unless you have sons kind of mind reading ability, you really don't know what they are thinking and it's only natural to look.

Have you tried just ignoring her or distracting?

Screeching when happy is far better than screaming as if being murdered continuously!!!

Ignore the looks. She's a baby. She doesn't know what she's doing and you can't stop her!

phase. phase phase phase phase phase phase!

it's awful - so annoying. my DD did it from about 9.5-11 months and it nearly drove me insane. But she did grow out of it! Just do your best not to react and she'll look for something else to get a reaction.

My DD is 6 months and is doing it as well, it's sooooo loud Sad I have tinnitus in my right ear, convinced it's because she's screeching in it all the time! She does it when she's happy and excited, she has a different scream for angry/annoyed.
