Just what it says in the title. My dd isn't waving or clapping at 10 months old (she actually 10 and a half months). She is fine in everything else, should I be worried. Any experience with your LOs please x

My dd is 11and half months (10 months corrected) she only yesterday managed a couple of claps. No signs of any waving. Not worried at all, would only be concerned if she hadn't made any progress in another 4-6 months. All babies are different, compared to friends dc born within a few weeks of each other she has been first to do some things and last for others.

My DS waved a bit about 12 months and didn't clap properly (bringing both hands together) until 16 months. He's a perfectly normal 2 year old now. Don't worry!

Aww thanks ladies definitely put my mind at rest. I wasn't worried to much at first but then when I googled it and it said they should do both between 8-10 months got a bit worried Blush

I've been posting on another thread on here about the same thing. Mine turned 1 last week and has never clapped or really waved. I think he's starting to get the idea of pointing but I will only be reassured when he is doing it properly. I am a bit concerned but he is hitting all other milestones and not showing signs of any other red flags so I'm trying not to worry too much.

My DS only clapped around 1 and did a bit of random waving (mostly at cats and tractors!) but now at almost 17 months he's got the whole 'waving to say hello and goodbye' thing. Don't worry, 10 months is still quite early I think.

Didn't get any pointing out of my DS until he was about 14months. I do remember starting to get a little bit anxiously impatient myself (one of his friends had all the actions to 'wind the bobbin up' mastered by about 9 months!) then it all fell into place and I wondered why I wasted time worrying. A fair bit of variation is totally normal.

Try not to worry. My daughter didn't clap until about 11/12 months, didn't wave until about 13/14 months and didn't point until 14 months. She is now an extremely bright 18 month old.

I believe that they only get concerned if children aren't doing these things by 15 months. Your Lo is still very young.

My son didn't wave or point until he was 2 and a half to 3. But he does have Autism! 😀

I thought I had a child prodigy when my DD waved at 6 months. She did it once! Nothing since and she's 8 months now. When I wave at her now she looks a bit Hmm I'm hoping she'll pick it up again soon, they all do things at different times though and when they're ready too I'm sure your lo is perfect Smile

Perfectly fine that should've said!

Mine is 9.5 months so similar age. Weird child clapped at 6 months but got commented on all the time by other parents. Just learnt to wave in last week. Other baby friends of same age are just about mastering one/both so doesn't sound like she is particularly late to me. There is always something to worry about OP - mine doesn't crawl!
