Straw poll: what times does your just-4yo go to bed?

We put ds1 to bed at the same time as his baby brother (16mo).

Bathing at 6.30pm, into PJs and extra stories once the baby is asleep, gets into his bed around 7.15om usually asleep by 7.30pm.

But he is waking up earlier and earlier at the moment! Always just after 6, and it's driving us mad!

Is a 7.15pm bedtime typical for a child who just turned 4?

In bed by 8pm, she stays there till 8am. She was 4 in September, she has a gro clock so knows if there's one star left and she's awake (rarely!) she can play quietly in her room. More stars left means stay in bed and close your eyes.

7pm, usually but can be nearer 6.30 if she's tired. Some nights she'll drop off straight away, other times she's not asleep until gone 8. She wakes around 7 am, though was up at 6.30 today despite us having to wake her everyday for school this week Hmm

Over xmas so it has now stretched to bed at 9.30 but not asleep til 10.30 and awake around 9-9.30 if allowed to sleep that long.
When back at nursery he will be in bed for 8.30 and asleep around 9 and then awake around 7.30/8. I'd like to pull it back to 8/8.30 as it would suit us more to be awake earlier.

We do 7.30 for all of ours (3, 5 and 7yo). They all wake up at different times though with the middle one seemingly needing the least sleep! He's usually up at 6.30, the eldest at 7-7.30, youngest sometimes slept till 9 in the holidays when we didn't have to get up Grin

DS (nearly 4) goes to bed around 7-7.30pm.
He wakes up around 7am
We've tried putting him in bed later (hoping he would wake up later) but he still wakes up around 7am...

DD (4 in November ) is still in bed for 7. sometimes she's straight to sleep, sometimes she'll chat and sing for anything up to 45 mins (unusual though!). She wakes between 6.30 and 7, always has.

Do you have black out curtains/blind? This really helps!!
Mine is 4 and goes to bed at about 730 ish - he wakes around 6 but now with black out curtains he often sleeps in for an hour sometimes two hours longer! He did start Sxhool in sept which may be helping and he's allowed to stay up longer st the weekends - him and his sister play on the iPad til quite late (about 9-10 ... though he's usually fallen asleep by then anyway in her bed - this all helps to make him sleep in later

Does he have supper? A bowl of porridge or similar may help keep him asleep for longer.

Ours (now 2 and 5) have always gone between 6.30 and 7 each evening and the Gro Clock is set to 7am weekdays and 7.30am weekends and holidays. They wake vefore that but just play in their beds or chatter to each other.

We go sometime between 7.30 and 8. It had gone to nearer 9 during Christmas so working on getting it back to normal for Montessori starting back tomorrow.

We aim for 7pm here for our almost 4 yr old. He can be out cold straight away or sing and play for up to an hr on other nights. He stays in bed until 7am. Have noticed he's waking earlier these days. We use a gro clock to keep him in bed. Going to bed later makes no difference on his waking time

Two ds - 5 and nearly 4. Share a room. Bed after bath at 7pm, they get up at 7am. Sometimes they wake slightly earlier but stay in bed as instructed (!) till gro clocks turn yellow. Any less sleep and they're grotty next day.
