Cold turkey from dummy age 3? How longs it going to take?

Starting tonight as this morning at her dentist appointment they said her teeth are becoming bucked at the front! She has dummy loads and has never fallen asleep without it. Anyone got any tips for me? Also how long before they don't need it? I'm bricking it for tonight agh!

Less than a week for sure. My dc1 forgot about it after about 3 days but no real tantrums. Dc2 was so excited about the present the "dummy fairy" left at bedtime that she never asked for it again! Get a great gift..something that they can bring to bed with them for a few nights.

Dd was 3.5 she just had it for bed from 2ish i swapped it for a toy bunny and she whinged for a week i cut it up and frisked dd for spares 😀 it will be fine just get rid

My daughter only had dummy for night and was a bit unsettled in the night for about 3 nights, she obviously struggled to get herself back to sleep if she woke. After that normal service resumed and she's been fine since!

We used Father Christmas as incentive, she gave her remaining dummies when she saw him as she had decided herself that new babies needed them. you could try the dummy fairy?

Oh we used easter bunny and she had just turned 3 dunno where i got the .5 from tbf it was 20 years ago my memory is fading

So we recon three days? Omg she crying already and it's not even bedtime. 'I want my dummy back' she is saying. Agh this is torture she is so upset

We did a reward chart, with DD getting a cuddly toy she really wanted at the end of the week if she could go all week without the dummy. She wanted the toy so much she handed me the dummy on day one and that was that. Never underestimate the power of a good bribe.

My daughter just turned 2 and today I chucked them all in the bin, she's not asked for it yet but bedtime could be interesting...
