Anxiety in Armed Forces child

Hi first time posting but my wife uses this site and says it's good for advice.

I am a dad of 2 girls, one is 3 and one is 8 months. I am in the armed forces and have been for approx 9 years.

We have just applied for my eldest daughters school place for next year. Me and my wife are really worried how my daughter is going to cope. She will not leave our side and is so shy around everyone other than me and my wife. She won't even talk to her nanny and grandad at the moment.

I have been away a lot in her short life. I'd say I've probably been away over half of it. The last couple of months I have been away and I've never seen her struggle like she has done this time. She goes to ballet every week and the last couple of weeks she really hasn't wanted to get involved even though she normally loves it. She says away at the back of the class.

What I'm asking really is does anyone have any experience with children with anxiety and of sour, any advice?

Thanks

Hi yes she goes to preschool 3 days a week. She used to go to nursery last year but would hang around the adults more than the children. She screams when she is taken in. Once settled she behaves but it's getting her through the door that's the problem. Worried this will concubine when she is at school.

She behaves the same when I am away from what I am told. The only difference is when I am home she is clingy to me, for obvious reasons.

She really is a lovely girl, she is just so shy and withdraws herself from social situations. I'm hoping it's a phase but it's been about 5 months this has been going on.

We have just done the transition - 3rd school in 4 years due to postings. If you can take any comfort from us - it went better than I expected. Was worried for months about the move and new school. I said I would reassess the situation after a term (so now) and if he hadn't settled we would panic! He has good days and bad days but now more good days. I'm sorry not much more help but our new school has a nicer feel and a more homely feel and so he is more relaxed. Have you been to see the new school? Bloody stressful isn't it?
