Crawling but not sitting

My 10 month old ds can crawl very well but is still not able to sit up by himself. If I put him in sitting position he will sit for about a minute then topple to the side but he cannot get himself sat up. Should I be concerned?

My DD was exactly the same. In fact she did everything else early ( rolling, crawling, walking) but she couldn't sit without toppling until she was about 10/ 11 months. She is now 16 months and totally fine. I wouldn't worry.

No my DS was the same. He only started sitting after he started cruising and when he fell down that's how he learnt to sit! Don't worry yet!

My dc3 was the same, why would he want to sit when he could crawl, or stand, or lie on his back/front. He got there eventually.

Dd2 was the same-but if I ever put her to sit, she threw herself on her front and crawled off so she didn't get the practice.

Please bear in mind that not all children sit!

My DS never, ever actually SAT. He knelt.

I have numerous pics of him kneeling in paddling pool, kneeling on the carpet - not one of him sitting because he never did that.

These milestones are general and typical of the majority, not of every single child who is an individual on their own trajectory.

And sometimes they skip an entire one out altogether and just go straight to the next milestone (just to worry you as much as they possibly can!!).
