My 5-year old just had a blood test and we were told he is anaemic and will need to take iron supplements for the next 3 months. The problem is convincing him to take the drops of iron. He needs 5ml so it's quite a lot to disguise the taste of. I dilute them in orange juice but I have to really put in a lot of juice to disguise the taste and even then there is still a weird aftertaste. This morning I had to bribe him with chocolate to get him to drink the full glass.
Has anyone any suggestions on how to get the drops into him? What hides the taste best? Our doctor suggested the orange juice to help with absorption but it doesn't seem to hide the taste much.
