Please help ! My DD has started refusing a bottle. She has been BF since birth having the occasional bottle with EBM or Formula from around 6 weeks. Up until last week when she refused the bottle from my mum. My DH tried at 11 last night and she refused again so we put her to bed and she slept for 5 hrs. My mum has been trying again from around 2 ish today with no luck (with either bottle or weening cup) she did manage to spoon feed her an oz. If anyone has experienced anything similar or has any advice it would be great to hear from you. My DH is trying again now before bedtime but otherwise i feel I'm going to have to BF as i can't let her sleep having that little.

Both my children did this. DS1 was just a phase, DS2 never took a bottle again. Teething was definitely a factor with DS1, he found it quite painful and we went through a fair few nights using bonjela and/or Nurofen at bedtime. Fully dosed, he was happy to take a bottle.

DS2 was another matter. He was quite reflux-ey and I think even the slowest teats were too fast for him to cope with, it just used to flood his bib. In the end, we gave up and moved onto a sippy cup with milk in when it was necessary to. At five months do you think your DD would cope with this?
