Hi,
My daughter has just turned 13 months, I've noticed that she hasn't said any new words (by words I mean baba, dada, caca) since she was 9 months. Is this normal?
She won't sit still to read a book, she will just turn a few pages and then put it down. Also I don't know if I should be using shorter sentences when talking to her, so shes understanding the words more clearly, I'm worried I'm not talking to her enough!

If you're talking to her, then you're doing great! You honestly don't need to do anything special :). Just talk away to her about whatever you're doing together.

No words at 13 months, others than babbling, is also absolutely normal. She's listening to you all the time, talking everything in.

Don't worry about the book thing either. Have them around all of the time, let her explore and take any chances you can to look at them tigether. I always found after nap times were a nice quiet moment.

I'm sure you are fine, talk in an interesting tone of voice, lots of repetition, sing nursery rhymes together, with actions, keep the TV off, show her things, experiment with different books and find a couple of favourites, mine liked touchy feely animal pictures.

The fact that you are even asking shows you are very aware and responsive to her.
