4 month old naps... or lack of them

My 4 month old DS is driving me insane... He used to have about 5 naps a day roughly 50 mins per nap and now for this last week he has 15 minutes to 25 minute naps... It's making me crazy, I can't get anything done, I have an older child and I have almost no time for her at all. It takes me 15 minutes to get him to sleep and then another 15 minutes later he's awake!! What's the point of even putting him to his bed to sleep?? Is this a passing thing and is this normal?? Confused

Neither of my DD's were long nappers, DD1 would have 1-2 30 min naps a day and DD2 is 10 months and sometimes has a hour here or there but usually it's 30 min 2-3 times a day.

It became a lot easier once she could sit and play to get things done around the house or spend time with DD1.
I put the sometimes longer naps down to her now being on the move and using up more energy.

I would keep putting him in the cot as it's a good routine and if he does start having longer naps at a later date you don't want him to fall into the habit of sleeping elsewhere.
