Rolling belly to back

My 5 month old has been rolling from her belly to her back for a month now but has no interest in rolling from her back to belly!?

Anyone got any experience of this?

Any tips to encourage her to roll from her back to belly? I keep putting toys out of her reach but it doesn't seem to work!

Mine was the other way round - back to belly at the speed of light but has only just learned to go the other way at 9 months! I wouldn't worry at all - some babies never roll at all Smile

Mine wasn't able to roll until she was 9 months Grin

I wonder if weight has anything to do with it - if you are a strapping 90th centile baby, it must take more strength and practice to roll over than a dainty 9th centile one? This is my excuse for my 75th centile weight, 90th centile length galumphing girl Smile

Ds just rolled back to front this weekend - he's 1 in a week!

He's been taking unassisted steps for about a month though and now regularly takes 5 or 6 at a time, so it hasn't held him back. I think he only bothered with it at all so he could get himself to standing in his cot; he always used to be resigned to sleeping in it once he was on his back, but all bets are off now.

Others mentioned size; ds is 91st- percentile, so maybe there's something in that!

Mine did it for the first time today! He's a giant boy...

I encouraged him a bit by getting him to lie on his side with a toy then just tipping him over to his front to give him the idea that he could... Then just putting the toy slightly out of reach so in reaching for it he tipped himself over. He had a face like this when he did it (minus any teeth) ShockGrin

My giant son (99.3rd height 97th weight) could roll both ways at 3.5 months. He did back to belly first but hated being on his belly so soon learned to roll back! Grin I just kept putting interesting things at his side to encourage him.
