Have been trying to get my 15 month old baby to sleep in her cot. Have tried sleeping next to her where she can see me next to her, have tried the Ferber method and with both situations she cried till she's been physically sick. I've run out of ideas...! I have no idea what to try now!?? Please help!!

Where was she sleeping originally? In the same room as you ? Same bed?

Where did she sleep?

Can you take cot side off and put next to your bed so she gets used to cot space first near you?

Or just put mattress on floor out of cot. She might feel the bars are to enclosing. Also easier for one of you to lay next to her whilst she settles if no bars

Same bed! Won't settle unless she's sleeping next to me...was breastfeeding till about a month ago, thought it would be easier to stop breastfeeding first as it was mainly mainly for comfort. Thought that will help with her settling in her, but it hasn't.

We took the side off the cot at a similar age and was much easier to settle dd without having to bend over the cot side. If she's crying til she's sick with you lying right next to her it sounds like maybe she just doesn't like being in the cot, so this may solve the problem. Just get a bedside rail to stop her falling out, ikea do a good one.

Side of the cot doesn't go down. We don't have enough floor space to put the mattress on the floor...she plays in her cot fine during the day...its just that night...!

Surely floor space is the same? I mean you take cot apart and move away completely and just put matress in its place.
