After crying for an hour at 4am (me not baby!) I need to get my son's feeding sorted out asap. I cannot go on like this! Can anyone recommend a good paediatrician in london who can help is us tackle the problem and work out if it's cmpi/reflux/both? I'd sell a kidney right now to stop my son's pain.

We had horrendous issues with my son when he was born with reflux and later diagnosed sandifer syndrome. It's so awful to watch and know they are in pain and discomfort. We saw excellent paediatricians at NHS hospitals. My son was put on various medication but the thing that worked it's magic was being put on Neocate formular prescribed by the professionals and made such a difference. Have you seen a doctor yet? When my son first had an outburst/episode I was fogged off at the local doctors twice as just reflux. It was so bad I just marched him down to A&E where he got properly diagnosed and got the right help. Has it def been confirmed it's reflux? Google sandifer syndrome too as see of any traits.

We went through this hell. What helped us was removal of milk and soya (and a few others but soya is the first one to try the proteins are similiar to milk so lots of babies who can't tolerate milk can't soya either) eventually moved on to neocate, upright ALL the time - even nappy changes on a wedge, omeprazole. and diazepam for me because we saw useless paeds

Poor you. I know just how awful this is. Strongly recommend this wonderful man. Mr Mufta Eltumi - 020 8901 5555

Helped my 8 week old by prescribing omeprazol for the reflux and nutramigen formula for feeds. She was better overnight.

Good luck

Ps. If you can't get gp referral, go direct to him. It was worth the expense to have things sorted so quickly. And numerous visits to my gp hand been a waste of time anyway.

Neil Shah at Great Ormond Street is a paediatric allergy specialist, and knows all there is to know about CMPI. My baby daughter was absolutely miserable, clearly in severe pain, not sleeping and I was losing my mind. Dr Shah was absolutely amazing and turned it all around. I cannot recommend him highly enough. A private referral will be the fastest way of seeing him but a GP can refer on the NHS. Good luck, remember that hell xx

If you can I would skip the GP and go for a private consultation. We saw Dr Vadamalayan at the Portland who prescribed Neocate, Gaviscon and omeprezole (sp?) which transformed poor DS's life.
Good luck.
