Hair twirling

DD 8 has always twirled her hair, but now she's doing it all the time and won't let go or puts it in her mouth to do things, it also gets more frantic if she's stressed. Have any of you got any tips to get her to cut down?

Yes but it seems to get in the way of doing other things. Do you both do it all the time? Shock

I do this. People tried lots over the years to make me stop, in fact a chemistry teacher said my hair would fall out if I didn't stop. Needless to say my hair has not fallen out.

For me it is both a sensory and a comfort thing, I do it more when tired. When I've had cropped hair I didn't do it, but I guess you don't want to cut her hair short. No answers I'm afraid, it's obviously annoying for everyone but the person doing it.

Sorry just realised, it helps me concentrate as well so doesn't stop me doing things. Have you talked to her about it?

Yes, I generally don't mind unless she's trying to do something that needs 2 hands but won't let go. Easter Sad
