Daughters fear of coins

My daughter has a fear of money, especially coins. She got very upset today when her brother ran after her holding a pound coin!! I discussed it with her & it appears to be the smell it leaves on her hands. I asked her if she had ever handled money at school, she said yes but holds it between her nails when handing it over. She says she worries about notes but not as much as coins. I have go with her to GP in 2 days time anyway so will mention this but just wanted to ask if anyone has come across this before? Very concerned. Many thanks

I haven't really come across it - but Yes, there can be a quite unpleasant smell from coins.
