blood with teething???

My ds is 7 months and just cracking on with his 3rd tooth. My dd is playing with him right now and ive just noticed that there's actually blood around the tooth on the gum. Is this normal? I don't recall it ever happening to dd. He's normal in himself. It looks a bit sore im worrying a bit

Could he have gnawed on something to ease the pain and accidentally damaged gum?

Not impossible- he's always gnawing on something. His behaviour and sleep have been normal for him so I guess it's not bothering him at the moment - just looks a bit grim

Has the tooth already come through, or can you just see it under the gum? My nephew always had a bit of blood when a tooth came through. I'm not sure whether SIL ever checked it out or not, but it didn't seem to cause any problems. DS has never bled with any of his teeth, though.

I agree that speaking to a pharmacist might be helpful, but I would guess that if it stops quickly and there isn't much blood, then it's not a problem. That's only my guess though!

Maybe when it stops you'll be able to see that he's actually bitten his gum or something.

It's broken the skin - it's taken flipping ages so maybe it's just made his gum a bit sore. It's not loads of blood just swollen poor chap. I will see a pharmacist
