Teething?

My 11 week old DD has suddenly started sucking her hands/fists throughout the day. I know she's not hungry and wonder if she's starting to teeth?
She's also started to refuse her dummy and therefore getting her off to sleep is a nightmare. All she wants to do is suck on my finger, which I don't like her doing because I'm worried it's unhygienic.
Could these two things be linked? Any advice?!

My 8 month old ds refused a dummy pretty early on too. We were given lots of advice about giving carrot sticks etc for him to chew on but what worked for us are facecloths! I bought loads of white ones (quite cheap) that could be used for wiping his face but he also chews on them. The added bonus of having lots of them is that they can be washed (or boiled) regularly to keep them clean and he's not attached to any particular one. He gets two of them in his cot at night and he's self-settled for ages. It also seems to be helping his teething and it's safe. Hope this helps a bit Smile
