Have recently been joking how our 11mth old ds looks the same as he did when he was 6 months - this seemed kind of strange when our first dd was off the scale in weight.
He's ill at the moment so has been at the drs and she didn't say anything and anyway I wasn't worried until I looked at the growth chart.
Now, normally I never check these things and just go with the flow but I just had a look and am now a little concerned.
At 6.5 months he was 7 kgs , 70cm heightand now at 11 mths he's only 8.7 kgs and 72cm height - if the charts are to be believed then he was an average size 6.5 month but is now only average 9 month.
he's a good eater, a pretty good milk drinker (ave 5ooml/day) BUT not a great sleeper
Any explanations?
H

sorry menat to say that he was already 8 kgs at 6.5 months old. That's hardly any weight gain at all in almost 5 months (altho ill twice). Also stopped breastfeeding at 7 months.

They tend to grow in fits and starts. Apparently they also tend to grow more in summer than winter - so you are probably due to grow out of all your supply of clothes in the next month or two !

My ds is still in trousers that he wore at 5 or 6 months and he's 15 months now. He has only grown about 4 cms and needs slightly shorter trousers now he is cruising anyway. He keeps needing longer t shirts though so he must be growing a bit. He is about the size of a nine month old.

My brother was really skinny and tiny all through childhood and then ended up 6'2" and lets just say he wouldn't have a problem being on the weight chart now!

dd def goes in fits and starts, surely overnight sometimes... but then for months, nothing not one measly ounce...

thanks for all those reassuring messages - hate sounding like a paranoid mother and wondering what I'm doing wrong... i keep expecting everything to be the same as my first dd and it's so NOT.
