Anybody else's baby squeal?

My DS has just turned 7 months, since around 5 months he screeches/squeals when he is excited or happy and then laughs. It can be quite piercing at occasionally, but he's not upset just smiling, laughing etc.

The only problem is, when we're in public I feel a little embarrassed when he does this. I try to shh him and talk to him in a soft/gentle voice but sometimes he just carries on. To be fair, it doesn't happen all the time and when it does, it's not constant. It just happens between 1-3 times.

However, when we're in public sometimes people stare, which I feel a little awkward about. He's not playing up and obviously, he's too little to understand so I can't tell him off for squealing or tell him to be quiet because he's still a baby, who doesn't know any different. It's just sometimes, people look at me as though he's having a tantrum or being difficult.

When he's at home though we find it adorable! Haha. Did anyone else's babies do this? And if so, does it stop when they get older? And how did you deal with it in public?

Yep DD2 squealed and screamed - really high pitched, just because she liked the sound of her own voice ....shea one now and still loves a scream (that turns onto a bit of a sing & then laughs at herself)
Tbh I generally let her carry on & in public a soft sing song ahhhahh makes her lower the volume and join in with me
