WAKING UP EVERY HOUR DURING THE NIGHT

My 6 mth old son has started to wake several times during the night. When i say wake, i mean cry in his sleep and be very unsetteled. As soon as you give him a dummy or rub his hand to soothe him he will go to sleep again but only for a short while. I have tried feeding him at 12pm or 3am or whatever time he wakes and used extra blankets, all to no avail. The thing is if i put him in the bed beside us he will sleep no problem, something which i have reluctantly done only twice. Anyone out with a similar situation i would be greatful to hear form you. interupted sleep startng to take its toll especially now i am back to work.

omg you sound like me.
i found stepping up his meals to 3 a day really helped him sleep sounder. also if i play music really quietly he would sleep through.

however in the end i just had to leave him, babies go through different sleep stages in their night, from light to deep sleep, and if you leave them to settle themselves (which they DO have to learn whether its now of later) they will eventually stop waking.
took about 2 weeks, i'd go in if the crying lasted longer than a few miniutes... is he in the same room as you? it could be you are desturbing him in your sleep.
