Self Esteem - how to help my child

I am part way through an incredibly revealing self-analysis process which was triggered by recognising I was completely failing to cope with normal life. Turns out nearly all of my perceived issues boil down to a lack of self esteem which then locked me into a self-fulfilling cycle bringing me further down as I got older.

I am keen to read up and hear advice and experience on what helps to give children a decent sense of self esteem. They are 1 and 3.5 and I would be very grateful for any recommendations for resources / books / websites on the subject.
