My 9 year old has terrible tantrums

Help! My 9 yr old son for the last few months, has been having the worst temper tantrums. He kicks off at the slightest thing, always has to have the last word and has absolutely no tolerance to anyone, saying everyone annoys him! He is also very sensitive and we seem to be suffering with separation issues, hates to be left on his own, scared of dark, to name a few problems, he has had issues at school which have been dealt with but getting to end of my tether, don't know what to do anymore but just want a happy household!????

Sounds tough for you and tough for him too. Are you doing all of the usual, like limiting screen time, putting him to bed at a reasonable time?

My 9 year old has bad tantrums from time to time. I can't help thinking it's due to anxiety underneath.

I found this book very helpful and house was much calmer once I started using it.
