Do you wake your sleeping toddlers?

My DD (21 months) can easily sleep 3 hours in the day but I never know if I should let her. Most nights she sleeps really well having between 10 and 12 hours.

She used to go to bed at 7pm and go to sleep fairly quickly but the past few months she's been wide awake and doesn't fall asleep until around 8:30/9pm, which I believe is too late for a baba of her age.

That's why I don know whether I should only let her sleep a certain amount of time at lunch time.

What do the rest of you do?

My dd is 24 months, she was restricted to 1.5hrs nap but was getting later going to sleep and waking in the night.

Now restricted to 1hr and it has improved night wakings.

She does take some time to wake up though and would happily sleep longer but we need our sleep at night!

I wake my 21 month dd after a two hour nap. Otherwise she'd sleep for hours which impacts on her night time sleep.

Cut the daytime nap to 1.5 to 2 hrs max. My DS is just 22 months and we had the same issue a couple of weeks ago. I've also bought his naptime earlier to around midday-ish as later naps had the same problems. Such a tricky balance isn't it OP?!

It certainly is. I think I will try to stick to 2 hours max then and maybe bring her lunch forward to 11 ish so I can do nap time around noon. Thanks
