Hiya I may sound silly but I'm not sure what's happened to my cute, cuddly, sensible well mannered daughter! Its all strops tears tantrums and attitude now, very over opinionated and shouty even when I talk? Anyone else had this happen over night and what's the best approach to dealing with it all?

Yes, my DSD went like this when she was 11. She started her periods very soon after. I'm just waiting for dd1 who's 12 to start going through it.

Don't let her get away with being cheeky etc but try to be sympathetic and supportive as she's probably a big bag of emotions right now.

No you don't sound silly. I'm having the same issue with my 10 year old Step-Daughter. Now being in a blended family gives a clue that there may be complex issues. Is there anything going on? But frankly as a newish parent to a then 7, now 10 year old, I'm told by more experienced parents that this is normal- whatever the issues! I'm trying to recall if I was like this!

I've had this and put it down to hormones and a change of school coming up!
More than enough to deal with on their own, but the two combined are too much, probably.
