Ds2 is almost 16 months. He can't walk - crawls and bum shuffles and has only a few words so is quite frustrated.

He is a little monster! Very strong willed and only happy when he gets his own way. He launches himself at me and ds1 (and visiting children) and will hit, pull hair etc whilst laughing with a gleeful look in his eye! He also throws everything - especially food etc. I say no and remove him from the situation or remove what he is throwing but he really just tries to come back one louder!

Should i be doing anything else? I assume he will just grow out of it and not become a homicidal maniac, but i don't remember ds1 being anywhere near this rough, so feel i should check!

He is also of course also very cheeky and cute!

Is it attention seeking do you think ?

Don't give him ANY reaction. Pick him up move him away and walk. He will be confused to start with but hopefully he will realise he can't behave like.

Oh and being on being cheeky and cute...... He knows it!!!!!!!!!

At 16mths he shouldn't really be hitting out at any one. How has your eldest DS reacted to him ? Does he hit him and pull him about ? I know that I used to pinch my brother when no one was looking because my DM loved him so much. Everyone would peer into his pram and say' what a pretty baby he was' I used to wait until she wasn't looking and pinch him hard and slap him and hit him as I was a jealous four year old. He then would cry and I was glad as it showed my Dm that he wasn't so perfect after all.
Pretty evil! However this could only go on until my DB could speak and we are very good friends now.
A calm quiet house with minimum yelling helps. Your Dc are depending upon you and how you behave towards them and others, as a role model. Just check that your DC1 feels he is getting enough attention.
If you are not using the services of Homestart, try them. Google them them for telephone numbers. They are vetted volunteers that act as a sort of Grannie. They will come to your house and help you with for instance tidying, which would give you some time with DC1
Best of luck and don't despair, everything passes and they grow up.

Thanks both - Alex i think you are spot on, will try that.

They both get a lot of 1 on 1 and ds1 is very good with him. I think it is just an attention thing - he dances to music and does other cute things to get your attention (real showman) so hopefully just a case of learning what earns a clap and what leads to no attention.
