Crawling at 4 1/2 months?

My Dd3 is just about to turn 6 months and I'm quite shocked by how mobile she is!

She began to crawl at about 4 1/2 months (using her knees to push herself forwards), and now perfected she can move at quite a fast pace. At 6 months she is now pulling herself up to stand on anything she can find, and is even trying to let go and balance on her own! Shock

My first child was pretty much average in this department. My second was walking by about 9 months or so.

Just wondering how many others have experienced this?

My ds did funny knee crawling really early, probably around 4/5pnths, he was properly crawling at 6 months and also pulling up and cruising around the furniture at 6 months. In my post natal group there was a little boy who was properly hands and knees crawling at 4.5 months so I don't think it's especially unusual.

Ds walked at around 9/10 months so not astonishingly early, he is very physically able as a toddler, he could jump/do a rolly polly soon after he turned 1.

DS crawled at 4.5 months, closely followed by sitting up, then pulling up and cruising. Didn't walk till 12 months though so not that early. He is a v physically confident child though - like the pp's ds he was jumping and foward rolling at 1. I'll be interested to see if he ends up sporty..it would be a first in our family Grin

My son has done everything you described at the same ages. Now 9.5mo and just a very good crawler/ climber/ cruiser! I think the crawling stage is so cute, I don't want to rush him into walking.

DS was crawling at 5 months, pulling up not long after - I have video of him walking around with highchair leg in one hand (light antilop), dining chair leg in the other! (Tiled floor though). It's very cute. He was walking just before 9 months and ran about 5 minutes later - or so it feels! He hasn't stopped running! He is now nearly 3yo and has very good balancing and jumping skills, but otherwise just like any other child in his class.

He did get adoring looks when he was wee and walking Smile he did looky dinky!

Nope. At 6 months here both just laid on a rug.

Both walked around 12 months though so went from rolling/ crawling/ walking fairly quick . Prob 9-12months from rolling to running
