Is this normal?

My 22 month old has a massive tantrum if I take the wrapper off of an item of food for her. For example an organix oat bar. She wanted it, I asked if she wanted me to open it, she says Yes then goes bonkers when I do. Wants the wrapper back on and still has a fit if I try and put it back. Similar with removing banana skins, or if I give her a couple of crisps, raisins, crackers etc from a bigger packet, she will go mad and want the items to still be inside the packet and wants to hold the whole packet.

Yesterday she was carrying a book in a plastic carrier bag which subsequently ripped. She was inconsolable even when I offered an alternative carrier bag.

I know toddlers are highly unreasonable. But is this within the realms of normal? It's exhausting!

Lol....yes all the fun of the fair.

It's just development frustration I think. It also manifests in school work.

My DC have been known to majorly flip out when they ask for help, so you help them, halfway through they get it, then get very angry at you continuing to help to see if they really understand.

This age it will pass, but it's only shape shifting till later.

Yes, both mine do this. Screams about 'Do it myself!' echo through the house regularly.
