7 wk old trying to roll?

My DS is just 7 weeks old and he keeps rolling over on to his side but then he gets frustrated and starts crying but I don't know if this is because he can't roll completely over? He's been doing some tummy time and I get the feeling he might be trying to get over on to his front but I don't know, does anyone have any experience of this? Not sure if I've explained this very well!

He might be trying to roll, or he might just be experimenting with how his body moves. Don't worry about him getting stuck half way, just help him out if he seems to need it.

Are you concerned about night time? I had the same with my dd - she could roll from back to side at just a few weeks of age, and from back to front fully quite early on too, and would always do these things in her Moses basket at night as she preferred sleeping on her side/front. And in the end, we had to let her - once they can roll themselves you cannot possibly sit up through the night rolling them back. I spoke to my HV who said recommendations are to put baby down on back, but once they can roll, they will inevitably sleep in their preferred position.
