What exactly does a growth spurt entail?

My DS will be three weeks next week and I've been told to expects growth spurt but would love to know what that'll mean from a routine point of view. Presumably he'll just put on more weight suddenly - but will he feed more? Sleep more? What did your babies do? Thanks!

They will definitely want more milk! Which might mean they wake more often during the night. Are you feeding on demand?

Yes, lots more demanding milk. Waking and demanding milk more often at night as well as during the day. Cluster feeding, which can entail being pinned to the sofa for hours.
