My son is 6 months and still has not really figured out the excersaucer which is like a jumperoo. I like to change rooms and find what he is eyeing and kind play with it and explain it. I let him smell different scents like from the spice rack. It is nice to have one of those shaped blocks toys. Where they have to drop the right shape in the hole and they are colored so it kills two birds. audio books are fun, if he will sit still.:) I just let him explore and make sure whatever he wants is safe. It is easier then making him try to do this or that, which with my son is impossible.

Try a photo album and a treasure basket.

The magic scarf box is always good too.

Has he got a library card? The library should have lots of suitable books. Is there a toy library in your area too?

Ooh. Don't know what happened to that last link. I've accidentally done that clever word instead of a link trick.

My seven month old loves touch and feel books. I also read books with nursery rhymes and we do lots of singing and action songs - old McDonald etc

I have a spinning drum that makes music ( charity shop find ) that is brilliant

Also a singing bear from mothercare

I bring him swimming which is great and he sleeps well after

Lots of people recommend tommy eggs and wooden spoons and saucepans

Hi sorry, I just meant is he a member of your local library? As for toy libraries, yes I think google should be your friend or try your local MN site Smile

Yes the tommy squeaking eggs. I haven't bought them yet but I have seen them recommended here a lot. Also when they are a little older, the post box form elc. Is good to know as I hadn't heard of the eggs.

Swimming is great. Also our local library does story time for toddlers but welcome us too. It's good for them even to hear language and meet people.
