Especially when it's tidy up time... She likes to pretend she can't hear me I think!

Yes, my DS is the same, he is particularly good at ignoring comments like 'it's bedtime in 5 minutes'.

DH is convinced he has hearing problems, but I'm faily sure it is selective Grin

Was just thinking this today. DD is really terrible. And the more I ask her to stop what she's doing/tidy up her books/pick her coat up off the floor, etc, etc, til I'm blue in the face, I think she just zones out! Argh!

Selective deafness is very common. Also in dogs and husbands!

DD has very selective hearing. She will ignore you and pretend not to have heard you if you ask her something, but can hear the word 'biscuit' from 2 rooms away.

DS1 was exactly the same at that age.
