7 week old going ages between feeds?

My gorgeous DD is 7 weeks tomorrow. She's been suffering from reflux and was sleeping very badly but was prescribed ranitidine a week ago and it seems to be helping. She's now taking long naps (up to 3 hours during the day and went for 6 hours last night!!!) which is great but it means her feeds (she's breastfed) are spacing out to more like every 4 hours during the day, which works out at between 5 and 6 in a 24 hour period.

Is this ok?? Am I just very lucky to have an easygoing kid (DS was much less relaxed!) or should I worry? Can ranitidine have a sedative effect?? Her weight is fairly steady - started at 91st centile and now seems pretty consistent at around 75th.

You could ask you hv but dd did this, (bf for 10 mos) probably about this point. Keep an eye on the weight gain, if fine I wouldn't worry.

My DD did the same, often going 4-5 hours between feeds. She's nearly 8 mths now and bf'ing still going strong. Agree if weight gain stable don't worry! :-)

Ok I'll keep an eye on weight gain! Hard to tell whether there are enough nappies (which is what HVs usually suggest measuring by) because she's asleep for so long she ends up getting changed less often!
