Need help desperately!!!!

my 8 week old has gone from sleeping 4 hours a night to 2. to make matters worse he is refusing to breastfeed which leaves me sore and uncomfortable. he takes expressed milk fine but for some reason doesnt want to bf.

a friend said he is waking up more often because he is getting more "watery milk" and doesnt feed long enough for the good stuff and the problem with expressing is it makes more watery milk....apparently. she said the creamier milk is "heavier" and that will make him full for longer.

I am desperate to continue breastfeeding and dont want to formula feed if I csn help it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a sleep regression. I expressed every drop of milk DS had and he slept through at 6 weeks, so your friend is talking bollocks. Is there a breast feeding helpline you can call for some suggestions as to why he doesn't feel like feeding from the breast.

I thought sleep regression was only at 4 months onwards. looks like he has it especially as he isnt sleeping through out the day just 10 -15mins here and there.yesterday was pretty hard
